Holiday Bowl Previes: The First Good Matchup

There are a lot of bad games on the bowl slate this year but the Holiday Bowl is not one of them. Texas and Arizona State are both high scoring teams (19th and 35th respectively) and this should be a fun game to watch. Arizona State gets it done via the air while Texas chooses to do its work on the ground. Sun Devil QB Rudy Carpenter should be able to attack the much maligned Texas D while Longhorn RB Jamaal Charles should be able to run all over the Sun Devils' defense. The Holiday Bowl always seems to be a shootout and this game should be no different. I like Colt McCoy to make enough plays to win this game in a barn burner.

Texas 38 - Arizona State 35
* actual score: Texas 52 - ASU 34
