Week 4 Recap

In what was a somewhat boring week in terms of top match ups the game of the week (homer alert) had to be Georgia's OT win over Bama on the road. Although not the prettiest game of the day it got the job done putting the Dawgs back into contention for an SEC title. One very bizarre moment in this game came when play-by-play man Mike Patrick went a little off course and wanted to talk some gossip (http://awfulannouncing.blogspot.com/2007/09/mike-patrick-has-important-things-on.html). Is he seriously the best ESPN could get? Hell, pay me half of what he is making and I guarantee I cannot be any worse (seriously, I am not joking and can be reached at pdub1005@gmail.com). In the other SEC games of note Kentucky beat Arkansas despite McFadden going off giving batshit crazy Hog fans even more reason to hate Houston Nutt. LSU smacked South Carolina around causing the Head Ball Coach to switch QB's for the umpteenth time and Ole Miss put a scare into FLA losing 30-24 which caused OU to jump the Gators in the AP poll. USC rolled as usual and the Irish of Notre Dame are now 0-4 for the first time in their 119 year history. We here at the Gods of the Gridiron feel Notre Dame's start is due to Karma after all of those pederast Catholic priests got away with touching boys. Serves you right, bitches. Apparently defense has become optional for some college football teams. Louisville lost to freaking Syracuse (yes, the same team that had been outscored 118-32 entering the game) after giving up almost 500 yards and 38 points in Papa John's stadium. Are you kidding me? If someone would have told me that the Cardinals would lose to Syracuse at home I would have told them to put the blunt down. Meanwhile, Nebraska's D hasn't shown up this year (I am not counting beating a shitty Nevada team). The Huskers had to watch a 55 yard FG miss left by Ball freaking State Saturday to escape with a 41-40 HOME win. Ball State piled up over 600 yards of offense including over 400 yards passing. In the last 2 weeks the black...I mean pink shirts have given up over 1,000 yards of offense and 89 points at home. Even in the miserable Big 12 that won't get it done.
